Ever wondered what those numbers are on the front of colour boxes? Ever been so baffled by them that you’ve just picked your favourite number only to end up looking like something out of a Disney film? Ever picked a box of colour up because the lady on the front looked nice and then realised you were looking at her face and not the BLACK hair which you now can’t get out for love, money or the 100 hair washes you’re now doing every day?

How do you create a bun, which is supposed to be messy, but you want it to look glamorous, not like you’ve just climbed a tree, picked out a crows nest and shoved it on top of your head?

When we’re not straightening our hair we’re most certainly trying to curl it. Big, bouncy, tight, spiral, loose, bohemian, soft. However you want your curls to look you want them to look healthy, shiny and frizz free….but, hopefully, not looking like Bo Peep!

Who’d have thought that a style would last over 10 years! Straightening has definitely outstayed it’s welcome by about 8 years but we all love it and it ain’t going anywhere…..so, if we’re going to be doing it for the next 10 years, we may as well do it well.

What shampoo and conditioner to use?

Picking a shampoo and conditioner is about getting a nice smelling one, preferably nice and fruity right? Wrong!

You need to invest in a good quality shampoo and conditioner. Preferably a salon only brand, such as MoroccanOil. Yes, they might be slightly more expensive, but because these products are more concentrated, and with better ingredients, they last you a lot longer because you don’t need as much. The mistake people make is that they don’t feel clean if the shampoo suds aren’t flowing out the bath tub. But this doesn’t need to happen if you get a good quality product.
